SCOTT PARKER MAST congas
Scott Parker Mast of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, began his studies in hand-percussion at City College of San Francisco under Kwaku Daddy of Ghana. Since then his focus has been primarily on rhthyms of Cuba and Zimbabwe (where he spent 3 months in 1997-98.)
Scott has performed as a member or guest artist with many local acts including Sol & Swift, Jubal & The Rudeboys, Cabaret Diosa, Kutandara, String Cheese Incident, Sucker, Logo Legi, D.J. Harry, and Aphrodesia. Onda is his primary performance group.
In addition to performing,he also teaches group and private hand drumming in what he has studied most: Cuban conga and bell arrangements in the style of Los Munequitos de Matanzas, and Zimbabwean drum styles as arranged by Chris Berry of the Blue Tribe School in Albuquerque. NM.
